Located on Baker Island in Bar Harbor, #Maine, the Baker Island Light was established as a light station in 1828 to illuminate the southern entrance to Frenchman Bay. The tower and lightkeeper's house were added to the National Registry of Historic Places in 1988. It has long since been replaced by offshore buoys, but is open for tours and maintained by the Acadia National Park service.
